Ignore the garden…

I guess my early-season watering has paid off. In the last two weeks I’ve rarely had time to set foot outside the back door, say nothing of watering the plants.

imageIgnore the garden… and all of a sudden there are five unexpected cantaloupe melons on the way, healthy green peppers, about 60 tomatoes, as well as a whole bunch of beans. I love it!

imagePlanting successful melons was just a fluke. Aside from recently ignoring them, initially they were only planted because they were on sale at the nursery and I thought, why not! I guess the climate here in my dry west-facing melon plot is ideal for such growth.

Feel free to comment and share what you’ve planted and we’ll learn from the successes. I’m already thinking about next year!
