Cup of C

Is it that the winter’s been super long and I’m craving fresh fruit and vitamin C? I found a new smoothie that I’m addicted to and, knowing me, I made some of my own variation of it too. The original is defiantly worth a return visit every once in a while! For the moment get out your blender, grapefruit and strawberries and get ready for something yummy! Thanks to Aggie’s Kitchen for the brainchild for all kinds of citrus variation smoothies.

I usually use oranges as a smoothie base, but hadn’t until now thought to delve deeper in to the world of citrus. I am addicted! I’ve tried and liked the following variations:

Lemon-Raspberry Smoothie

Blend all ingredients together in blender. Add unflavoured protein powder if you wish!

Ingredients:

  • 2 lemons (start with one, just in case you find it too sour)
  • 2 1/2 cups frozen raspberries
  • 1 cored apple
  • water or cold fruit tea
  • 1 inch ginger

What can I say I’m a sucker for tart flavours, I also tried one with lime:

Coconut-Lime Smoothie

Blend all ingredients together in blender. Add unflavoured protein powder if you wish!

  • 1 peeled lime
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 cored apple
  • 2/3 cup cultured coconut milk (plain or vanilla flavoured)
  • water or cold fruit tea (add for desired consistency)

Happy Blending!
