Last summer my melon plants were so successful that a couple of times I came outside to find Gwenny running the yard with a full-sized cantaloupe or baby watermelon hanging out of her mouth!
While I’m not opposed to sharing, this wasn’t really how I intended to do it. Luckily melons aren’t bad for dogs, so I chalk it up to an unfortunate loss from the garden, but a treat for her.
My melon garden is slower this year, but there’s nothing quite like the little flowers that start the growth of whole fruit. Look at all the hopeful starts on this cantaloupe plant.
